Introduction
The background for developing this CBT module is the IMO convention A.868(20) of 2004 covering Ballast Water
Management and requires that:
- All officers and crew involved in ballast water management are to receive proper training. (i.e. This CBT)
- All ships must minimize the transfer of harmful aquatic organisms and pathogens
- All ships must develop and follow a Ballast Water Management Plan
- All ships must record all ballast operations
This CBT module addresses all the above requirements and is a very effective onboard training and information
package to cover the requirements for training and information of crew being involved in Ballast Water
Management.
